Product Overview
Effective AC water drain performance depends on more than the pan itself; the outlet connection, slope of the pan toward that outlet, and the fit between the pan and the downstream drain line all affect whether condensate actually clears the pan reliably or backs up and overflows. We treat the drain path as a single design problem when we build these components, rather than fabricating a pan in isolation and leaving the outlet connection as an afterthought.
In practice, that means we confirm outlet thread type and size against the customer's existing drain line or trap assembly, build in enough pan slope that water reaches the outlet without pooling, and, where requested, add features like a raised lip around the outlet to reduce the chance of debris blocking the connection. For OEM customers developing a new equipment platform, we can review the drain path layout during the design stage and flag details, such as an outlet positioned too close to a corner or a pan depth too shallow for the expected condensate volume, that tend to cause field problems later.
Material and finish selection follows the same logic as our other AC sheet metal parts: galvanized steel for cost-effective performance in typical indoor installations, and stainless steel where higher humidity, corrosive air, or a longer expected service life justifies the added cost. We can also supply matched drain fittings and connectors alongside the pan itself, so the customer receives a complete water management sub-assembly rather than sourcing the pan and fittings from separate suppliers.
Quality control includes dimensional checks on the outlet connection detail specifically, since a correctly shaped pan with a misaligned or wrongly sized outlet still fails in the field even though it would pass a general dimensional inspection. We test water flow through the outlet on custom orders to confirm the design drains effectively before it goes into full production.

Application
AC water drain components are used in any air conditioning installation where condensate must be collected from the coil and routed to a building drain, condensate pump, or exterior drain point, covering residential split systems, light commercial packaged units, and larger ducted equipment.
When specifying these components, confirm the connection type and size at both ends of the drain path, the expected condensate volume for the equipment's cooling capacity, and whether the installation will use gravity drainage or a condensate pump, since pump-fed systems sometimes call for a different outlet detail than gravity-drained ones.
